Total ICAP Electronic Broking Volumes for BrokerTec and EBS Platforms Increase 28% in August Year-on-Year

ICAP, the world’s premier interdealer broker, announced today that total electronic broking volumes for the month of August on the BrokerTec and EBS platforms reached US$904.4billion (bn), an increase of 28% year on year.
Total average daily spot FX volumes on the EBS platform were $186.9bn, an increase of 46% year on year. August 4 was the third highest volume day in the history of the EBS platform, with $407bn traded, and also saw the second highest number of deals per day on record (approximately 253,000 deals).
Total average daily volumes in fixed income products on the BrokerTec platform were $717.6bn, up 24% on the previous year. Overall repo volumes reached $560.5bn, an increase of 26% year on year. US Treasury electronic broking volumes increased 18% in August to $157bn.
